James Mejía is a native Denverite with the knowledge of community and connections to residents, elected officials and business leaders. He was trained at the University of Notre Dame Mendoza School of Business, the nation’s top undergraduate business school ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek and earned his MBA from the W.P. Carey School of Business, at Arizona State University where he was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society. His Masters in Public Policy is from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, from Princeton University, which is one of the top two programs in the United States.
Mejía has a history of success in entrepreneurialism. He led the effort to co-locate a community recreation center with a public charter school saving millions in construction and operating costs. He served as project manager of the $425 Million Denver Justice Center build-out of one million square feet in the heart of downtown Denver on-budget and on-time. He also served as the founding CEO of the Denver Preschool Program, creating a nationally renowned education program in three short years.
